Заглавная песня True - дань уважения Марвину Гэю, считающемуся непревзойденным певцом музыки соул. "Слушая Марвина всю ночь напролет, /это звучание моей души". Причем, песня выпущена за год до трагической смерти Гэя от руки собственного отца. Песня попала на 1-е место в хит-парадах 21 страны мира. В США она стала единственным хитом группы, поднявшись на 4-е место в Биллборде, за что группу прозвали в Америке "однохитовым чудом". В Соединенном Королевстве стала хитом №1, "убрав" Let's Dance Дэвида Боуи. Гэри Кэмп написал песню в разгар своей безответной любви, отсюда такая искренняя меланхолия. Строчка "Take your seaside arms and write the next line" взята из набоковского романа "Лолита". Один из продюссеров альбома, Тони Суэйн вспоминал: "Мы записывали альбом на Багамах, и по-моему, все эти места благодатно повлияли на альбом. True - несложная песня, но в ней реально что-то есть. Что-то такое вневременное - ее крутили по американскому радио более 2 миллионов раз и использовали в свадебных сценах во многих фильмах.
